A truly fabulous 

hat bedazzles the eye and

glorifies the soul

Although regarded as an ungainly and messy tree in the formal landscape, the indigenous Northern catalpa nevertheless provides a cheerful and extravagant beauty on many a vacant lot and abandoned homestead in southern Appalachia. And, apparently, makes a lovely hat if your skull is less than an inch in diameter.
